We define ourselves as being a “little marginal”. We are dreamers and for us, you just die when you stop dreaming. Moreover, we think no dream is impossible to realize. We truly believe that “the journey is the destination” and we are trying to enjoy every second of our life. The moment we fulfill a dream, we need another one!
Two years ago, we decided to homeschool our children. We never know what will be the impact of such decision on their future, but up to now, we are so happy with that decision (and they are too!). It allows them to learn at their own rhythm, which has been quite fast as they are both one-year in advance compared to a traditional curriculum. They are reading the books they want, they can choose the subject of their assignments, and all this contributed to keeping their motivation at the maximum level. French is their mother-language, but they attended school in English since we arrived in Mauritius. Moreover, they started to learn Spanish about two years ago and they are on their way to be trilingual. We are very proud of them!
We don't know yet if homeschooling will still be part of our plan after we move to Las Olas in Ecuador. We heard some very good comments about a private school in Bahia de Caraquez, Unidad Educativa Interamericano, so it might be something we will be looking at.
We raised our children having in mind they will leave our house someday (and it's coming faster than we thought!). That's why we are trying to let them experience different things, discover different cultures, languages and way of living. We can't wait to see how Ecuador will impact their future.
